Feel the Rush
The exciting experience of canopy is combined in this abundant
land with the beauty of the Mayan jungle.
Mario Morales / CT
Get ready to feel the rush of adrenaline as you fly over the tops of the trees of a beautiful stretch of the jungle safely strapped to a zip line. The panoramic views possible from these heights create and the fun of being suspended makes for a fun and exciting experience.
The Mexican Caribbean region, with its almost continuous jungle, offers many perfect settings for this activity. Eco-parks and tour packages often include this option among other programmable activities, so it is worth asking what other activities can be carried out in addition to canopy.
The area's flatness means that there is hardly anything similar to a ravine. However, towers are often set up, and the wonderful sights of the jungle make the view more than worthwhile.
Although zipping along a line is not physically demanding, sometimes the entire activity includes things such as hiking, biking or others that might require some calorie burning. Based on your condition and desire to do things, you can find the option that is right for you.
WHERE TO GO
Boca del Puma
This "zip line zone" ecopark has many attractions, such as a cenote, wall climbing and
biking, but the zip lines are the showcase of this registered ecological reserve. Their zip
lines are placed 24 meters high and present a breathtaking view. Boca del Puma also
features a chicle museum, showing where locals used to harvest chewing gum nearly a century ago.
Selvatica
Located in neighboring Puerto Morelos, this ecopark offers many tour options with
activities such as biking, snorkeling, horseback riding and of course canopying. The
zip lines are set up in different courses that can go from the mild to the extreme.
Chikin-Ha
This cenote area close to Playa del Carmen offers a Mayan zip line tour, combining the
rush of canopying with Mayan culture. The tour begins through a bike trek through a
Mayan farm and after the zip lines, you can enjoy snorkeling at their system of cenotes.
